Huge problem with Playonline!

Hi to all!
I have a great problem!!!!
Yesterday I install FFXI and, after the account registration, Playonline begin to download a lot of files (more than 15000 in 4 steps). And this is ok, becase I begin to play...................
.......but when today I reopen the game, Playonline begin another time to download the files, another time!!!(It takes about 3 hours on my PC!!!)!
But the real problem is that after step 1 (9444 files downloaded), the download stop, blocks on step 2 (the screen remain on 0/0 files dowloaded, also if I wait for 1 hour!!!!)!!!
How I have to do???
Plese help me!!!! I really want to play this game!!!
