Re: English NPC text on JP client possible!
For some reason, I'm having trouble using the auto-translator, and I'm not entirely sure where to turn for help. The only thing that works properly are when I start typing a " / " command and hit Tab - then it brings up the auto-complete list as it should. Anything else, be it English or Japanese, just brings up the standard list when I hit tab, as though I began entering something not found in the auto-dictionary.

I'm running the JP version of the game on American Windows switched to Japanese. I'm guessing it has to do with my IME

Auto-complete would help me so much, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know!

It took me a little while to figure it out. But it's really simple. When you type something, such as konbanwa, you type part or all of the word and press spacebar to make the text turn yellow, then you continously hit spacebar until the type is in hiragana, then you hit tab. It will then show up properly in the menu.

This is really good advice, and actually what I've been doing for awhile now. I installed the game on my laptop, which allows me to use the auto-translator the way it was intended, and that's awesome, but I can't figure out why it works so well on my laptop and why I have to hit spacebar a hundred times per word on my PC.

Re: English NPC text on JP client possible!
The reason is that the IME learns. Because the same kanji can be read in different ways, it learns to default based on what you normally type. Even Japanese players tell me the auto-translator can be a hassle sometimes.

UPDATE:
I figured it out completely, you type the japanese word you want and press shift+tab, it goes through the words that have the same kanji!!!! Found it by pure chance. Enjoy!
