Just though I'd post to see fi anyone else was having or had this same issue.

Even though I've setup my chat filters in game (combat spam etc from otehr people, and I do have it setup 100%correct) I still get the specific messages I'm blocking showing up in chat. And it goes for all chat filter settings. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled, (haven't tried uninstalling POL yet) and same thing.

Will try pol tonight if no suggestions before then

I have the exact same problem. Don't know how to fix it, but it is even more annoying now that fishing results are displayed.

Well, I played around with the chat filters to try and filter out other people's fishing results. Turns out I had to have "Special Actions Started On/By You" turned ON. Go figure. o.O
Lord knows what else that is going to filter out for me, or what else I would have to turn on to get it to JUST filter out the fishing results of others.
