Help Needed! What is the optimum settings I can get out of this PC?

Ok, I have FFXI and it works just fine, but I would like to squeeze just that little bit more out of it, get a higher res image or a better framerate. What is the best configuration for the following (Old) system?

AMD Duron 801mhz processor
256mb ram
Nvidia Gforce MX/MX 400
20gb HDD

I know I know its chronic, but its all I got and all I can afford and I would appreciate some help.
