Japanese input question

I'm just wondering if it's true that there's absolutely no way to use Japanese input with the English version of FFXI. It seems rather odd to me that I can input Japanese into everything else, and have been able to for years, but when it comes to FFXI nothing I seem to do works.

Is there a way around this without having to import the game? Am I just missing something that would make it work? Please help if you can, but if there's no way then I understand.

The only way you can input JP with a NA version of the game is when your are in POL only. Even then you must copy and paste from outside POL into it. Other than that, no, you need a JP ver. of the game.
