game screen goes black.

as soon as i enter the game world, it says downloading data, then that goes away , and i can hear sandoria's music and can see my cursor, but thats all. the rest is black.

anyone konw what to do?

reinstall whole pc
all drivers direct x ect downloaded tried blablabla
tried all grafic options

Is your video card supported to run FFXI?

p4 3.4 gig (1mb cache)
1 gig ram pc 3200
ati 9800 pro..

i would think it can run on that :S
the ff11- benchmark gave me 5890 points

How long are you waiting for the game to show up? When I first installed on my new PC, I had to wait around 3 minutes or so before my FFXI would show up after logging in on my character.

Other than that, I've got no clue.
