Incorrect pol ID or Password

OK, this is starting to piss me off.
I quit playing for about 5 months ago, and now i wanna play again.

But when i try to log in on playonline it just tells me "Incorecct Playonline ID or Password"

Im 110% sure that i have rhe right info, cuz i wrote my pol id down on 2 separate places, same with the password.

I understand that my account is gone, but i should still be able to use the same pol id, right?

You should be able to, double check again, use caps where needed, its CaSe SeNsItIvE. If not, call up SQE, and see if they can help you out

i have the pol ID and password in a irc-log, i could use it then, but not anymore, so im 100% sure that ive typed in the correct info, but still, it says"incorrect pol id / password"

omg this is the worst bullshit ever, i just called playonline support, guess what?

It's not only your character that gets wiped after 90 days, its your Playonline ID too, so if u dont play for 90 days you have to buy a new copy of the game, is that even legal? i read the licence agreement 2 times, and i couldnt find anything about it, it doesent say anything about it in the manual either, or in the registration process.

That only IF you CANCELED the global account
The right way to do it is cancel the content IDs.
This way you lose the chars, the slots but the PlayOnline account is preserved.
In this situation you can aways start again by confirmating payment info (changing credit card no if expired) and then buying contents IDs again.

By this I mean you don't need to disable the account, only if you're so pissed that you're sure you will never play a PlayOnline game again. (Yes, there will be other games added to PlayOnline very soon so it might be interesting to keep membership even if you're qitting FFXI for good

hehe, i already got a new game and im playing right now :p
the only way to solve my problem was to buy a new copy of the game >_< i called pol phone support, and thats what they told me :/

Did you reinstall the game and try to start a new POL membership? I really don't see why that WOULDN'T work, but it might just be gay that way >.>

I called the fuckers and they told me that the only option for me was to buy a new game if i wanted to play again.

How does someone prevent that then? Briefly logging in every now and then? And keeping paying?

Omg that is so bull. I am in the military and I get deployed to places were I can't log in to POL and play ffxi for many months at a time. I'm having that problem right now. But its been 4 months since I last logged in. I'm going to call SE today hear what gay stuff they have to say. Is there anyone out there that has quit for over 3 months and gotten to reuse their accounts?

For the person who said it's not in the manual, you didn't bother to read the manual at all.

Read pages 9 to 11 very carefully and it says that your PlayOnline ID is free, but your content IDs are not free. It also says that if you cancel your PlayOnline ID, you have 3 months to activate it again.

Summary: Only cancel content IDs, never cancel your PlayOnline ID.

Edit: It also says that if you cancel your PlayOnline ID and don't activate it within 3 months you are forced to buy another version of FFXI. All in the manual people, read it carefully!
