Currently I have kind an outdated computer (who doesn't?) I have a Pentium 3 w/ 660 mhz w/ 320 mb of sdram , I also have a GF4mx420. I'm thinking about getting a new Intel mobo w/ a P4 chip(1.6-1.8 ghz?). Anyway the total will be around $200 and if I have any cash left over I'll get a GF4ti4200. My question is: Is spending this much money on FF XI worth it? With the new mobo (w/ P4 chip) REALLY enhance the gameplay that much?

The processor and the new graphic card should enhance it much more. Although I recommend getting a P4 2.0ghz and up.

Couldn't I just overclock the 1.6 to 2.0 ghz?

You could but it's always a risk, and you need to buy coolers to do that safely without burning it.

it is absolutely worth it.... one thing, get a gig of ram.. i just grabbed it a few days back and WinXp needs it still eats one third of my ram in optimal mode The proccessor speed is not as important as simply stepping up to the faster bus <mobo> Get Tweak Xp!! its your whip to make Windows jump through its hoops ^-^
