| When you first get the game, all the controls and stuff can be a bit overwhelming. But trust me, after a day or two you start to get the hang of it.
First of all, you don't have to save you're game here. When you log off, you start at the same place you logged off at. If you die, you go back to your homepoint. In Windurst there should be Crystals around (I'm not from there so I don't know where) that you can target and set your homepoint.
To get money, you just have to go out and fight stuff. Monsters drop items more often then not. You can sell them in stores or go to the auction house and sell them (which is usually more beneficial). Then you can buy new equipment. Equipment goes by level. You can buy certain weapons if you're a certain level.
To see what missions and quests you've accepted press the - on your numpad, go to missions and it will show you all the missions you are currently on, etc.
I would recommend buying the strategy guide, even though it is a bit expensive (to me anyways). The equipment charts, spell charts, etc. are all very useful. Its a great tool for anyone just starting out, or even veteran players.
As far as leveling up goes, you should level up in Sarutabaruta around the city. Be careful to "check" the difficulty of the monsters before you engage. You do this by targeting a monster, and choosing check. Easy prey and decent challenge are good fights for solo players. Also, be aware that some monsters will attack you or "aggro" if you get too close. Mainly Yagudo for now. Once you reach level 10 or so, you can start looking for other members to party with. Put up seek status (- on numpad, party, seek party), or look for other people who are looking for a party (-, party, find members).
Once you start fighting in groups you can begin to explore the outlying regions of Vanadiel. Hop on a boat to Mhaura and Selbina, etc. Its a lot of fun. ^^
I usually just trade when I'm borrowing from someone, getting a gift, etc. When someone asks you to trade it will show up in the chat window: "So and so wants to trade." Target them and hit trade. And click on an empty space to choose an item you want to trade. To trade with NPCs, you target them, go to the menu (numpad -) and choose trade from there.
Oh, and when you first log on and the area loads, in the chat window the first thing you will see after the name of the area is purple text saying, "Welcome to Kujata" or whichever server you're on. That will tell you your server. If you have any other questions, my handle is Claidi or you can IM me. |
