This stupid thing pops up whenever i get to step 22 on the FFXI setup thingy

This looks to be a Network error. Are you online when you get to this point? Are you installing for PSX or PC? What type of internet connection do you have?

Ah HA! There's the missing link. There have been posts on the forum about people having router problems when trying to connect. I personally dont know what ports you need to open on your router, but you might want to search the forums for them. After that my PC guide will help with content ID and all. Its at the top thanks to the friendly admins making it sticky. Thanks you guys.

i had a simmilar problem also like that. but the number i got was 1299.

i think its a proxy error or firewall. all i did was simply change my ISP to another one and it worked fine.

If you look in the manual *yea I know you dont speak jp* but the ports to open are printed in english in the manual, cant remember off hand as im not at home.
