FFXI freezing with PS2/USB Adapter
Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone have any problems with the USB PS2 adapter which freezes FFXI and the PC and actually have to completly shutdown and reboot the PC to go back in. I will be playing for a while and cannot tell when it will happen and then I will be either walking around and it freezes.

Here's my hardware:

AMD 2000+
256 MB of Ram
GeForce Ti4200

Do you think it could be a RAM problem or the actually USB connection. I was fine with the keyboard before, I just want to know if there is any settings I can change to reduce the freezing. Please let me know. Thanks.

1. Disable Force Feedback

2. Who's the manufacturer for the USB adaptor?

If it's Soyo, go to their website and update the driver.

The force feed back is disabled and the manufacture of the adapter is Converter or something like that. It has a logo of two arms arm wrestling. I don't have the package anymore so I can't really tell. It's an adpater that has two ports on it one on each side and the casing is green and see through.

I found a picture of my adapter. Here it is

Would I have to update the driver on that

Yes, always get the updated driver and if it still continues to freeze. I bought the Radio Shack and the Soyo versions and I had problems with the calibration on the radio shack. I hope that helps you, but I recommend trying out other versions.
