POL 1164 Error HELP before my free trial runs out =(

so ive retried and retried downloading the update patch.... over and over.. each time it actually crept a little further along... eventually hitting the hdd data error ... id restart and it would resume wehre it left off...

well now im at the point where ive retried 10+ times and its stuck on the same file.. period will not download any further without that stupid error..

its ridiculously frustrating... well its just flat out ridiculous on its own..

someone posted to copy someone elses patchs/patch directory cept the only friend i have that has the game, is having the same problem...

is there anywhere/anyone that has these files compressed or that can host them to download to save everyone thats having this issue ? or did i waste 50 bucks on a terribly anticipating game that i may never get a chance to play ?

well i finally got it done.. last night i figured id give the retry button one last click, before i went out to the bar.. and i came home.. only to see it say "updated" i was like "wooooooohoooooooooo" so my advice is just keep on trying.. it will eventually work i guess, i didnt do anything special aside from the occasional deleting of the tmp files.... and i didnt even do that ALL the time... usually just kept clicking retry.. its frustrating and time consuming but eventually it should finish up.... regardless it shouldnt happen in the first place but...

and aside from that. now when i get to the character selection screen, if i press down (to go from human male to whatever else i want to look at, it crashes on human female, everytime, to my desktop.. so my only choice is being a human =/ i dont know what gives with this game but gaaaaaaawd)
