Errors....and such

I have had a few problems lately with Final Fantasy and Play Online. It all started one day when my game started to exit out on me. I would be playing then auto suddenly my desktop would come up. It happened roughly 3 or 4 times. Then when i tired to click on the Play-Online Icon, an error message or something like that would pop-up. So i uninstalled all the software.

I then reinstalled the software. while i was doing the finalfantasy update patch some error message would come up.
I then uninstalled everything again.
I tried reinstalling play-online. i'd get some POL-1607error.Error -1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Runtime.
i went to http://consumer.installshield.com that helped me. however i get play-online and that update to install, then i tried final-fantasy and that same error message would come up. I tried reinstalling that installshied like it told me to do. Eventually i uninstalled both the game and the playonline.

OH yah.. i reformatted my harddrive each time i'd get the errors.. i have 2 harddrives a almost 7gb and a 60gb. (only formatted the 60gb since that's where i d/l the game and programs onto)

So i then got the installshield version i needed to run the game.
i then installed play-online and got the patch togo through!! however no matter how many times i check files i get about 1-5 corrupted files. Right now i have only 1 corrupted file which is a data/font_???

What can i do to fix these errors.

Another thing sometimes while i update on the play-online for either the game or the play-online i get this HDD error?? is that my hard-drive??

I came up with this solution. Format my new hardrive i just got. Then go to my friends house that knows stuff bout computers. He'll reinstall Windows XP on my computer which i'll then just install the game! hopefully that works.

256Ram. it's PC100 and i think i got 1 PC133
i have a 825MHZ processor it.s athlon or duron..
currently a 32mb graphic card. it's that guys i was talking about it's a gforce2... im getting a new graphic card whenever it comes in.. it's a 128 or a 64mb graphic card.

Have you ever updated your videocard drivers? I used to have a problem with a few of my games randomly booting me out, and upgraded my drivers to 30.82 and it fixed everything. I don't recommend getting the latest drivers if you have a Ge2 though, just stick with something lower than the 40.xx's+

ill try updating the driver.. but the thing is im getting a new 128mb graphic card. I have a newer problem as you can see in my other post! it has to do with a Data1.cab error message that i get from cd1 on final fantasy.. the only solution i have is that my cd drive is crap and i'm then going to give my friend my computer and he's going to use his cd drive. i also have thought that if it's my cd i got 2 other friends of mine that have the game. however i already used my cd key's.. i also borrowed my friends play-online disk and now i don't know who's is whos!!! would that cause a problem?? if so how would i tell??
