Game Shutting Down - Final Fantasy XI :: Dreams in Vana'diel :: Community

I rarely had this problem until yesterday. My game was running fine until I tried to zone into La Theine, then it just crashes whenever I try and log in. It gets to the point where it finishing downloading the zone info, then crashes on me. I put it into the lowest res setting possible, and still it crashes. I have no idea why it's doing this. It runs fine in other areas in 1024x768 overlay, 1024x1024 background,with low compression and uncompressed maps. But now when I try and play, it just quites out, even with the settings changed to 640x480 overlay, 256x256 background, high compressions and compressed maps. Anyone have any ideas what else it could be besides the graphics?

Make sure you don't have any virus scan programs running or web shots or anything that either checks your PC for updates or make any changes.

why can't u have virus-scanning programs??.. i mean u can sitll hae ur firewall on right? becuz xp has a built in firewall and my routers got a firewall also. U mean things like norton anti-virus software right?

I got a virus scanning program on when i run it and it works just fine for hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours hours and hours and hours...

Alright I don't think it was really the virus scan but when the virus scan tried to do an update then it would shutdown FFXI so make sure you don't have auto update on. Not too sure as to why it shutsdown when I temporarily log out to Playonline and then go back in. I will be fine for about 5 minutes and then it craps out.
