Need Help... So Bad!

Hello, FFXI is an awesome game. but for me it kinda pisses me off.
because everytime i get into a battle let's say with a Carrion Crow, i press attack, my guy takes out her weapon and the battle music starts. After the music starts... my game freezes,:mad: i've had this problem since i got the game. can anyone help me please? my computer meets it's maximum requirement (except the Graphic card)... please help!

hmm,maybe there is something that makes trouble,a virus or something.or maybe your CD is broken,or doesnt run correctly.

try simple character,lowest settings .what graphic card are you using ? Does it support TnL.

Its possible you have sound settings above what you have the capabilities for (though i personally dont know what settings would cause a hard lock) like maybe set EAX for the highest but your sound card/chipset can't handle it? My only experience is when i played Call of Duty and had EAX on higher than i had and it really screwed me up with bad bad sound and sometimes a crash.

Also, when it hard locks does it just freeze the game where you can ctrl alt del out, or does it completely hard lock your system requiring a system reboot?
