| Installation Error 1906 (Not covered before!) Okay, so I had problems with the install discs as many did - so I used another computer to copy the files to that computers HDD and then used my portable HDD to move them between my machine.
Anyway, now it installs until it reaches 100%, to the "Registering Product" stage, upon when it displays the message displayed below - about not being able to cache some file. I can't see the problem, and unfortunately whatever I press it rolls back the entire installation, which is pain in the uranus.
There's nothing on MSDN or POL's website about this and I don't want to call POL because I'm not based in the US and I'm kinda scared of them finding that out and terminating my account.
I've installed all the latest updates from Windows Update (as I'm guessing this is a Windows Installer related issue), but to no avail. My last hope is that when I originally copied SETUP.EXE, it was corrupted, so I had to retransfer it. I'm going to retransfer the rest of Disc 1's files (bar the data1.cab as I'm sure it would have complained about that earlier in the installation had there been a problem) and see if that helps.
Good God, I've just realised that I've spent over 20 hours sat in front of this computer trying different methods of getting this to work. Good work, Squeenix!
