Probably only if your system is struggling now because of the lack of ram. Only other way that ram should affect performance are the timings and the fsb.

Judging by posts made in other threads I would say that more RAM is not going to boost your benchmark scores as much as you'd think. It seems that the game relies much more on a powerful video card and fast processor. I'm sure more RAM wouldn't hurt of course but, if you want to see big improvements in your benchmark, than upgrading the video card and/or processor will likely yield far better results.

Once you hit the 512 MB mark, the difference stops (unless you are running a server too). After 128MB RAM, the speed performance gains as to more ram diminishes. (The point of diminishing returns)

However, if you are running DDR RAM, having 1 GB worth of RAM chips from single-paging become 512 MB in dual-paging mode makes a small, but significant, difference.
