Pre-downloaded patches before game install
is there any way to do this? thanks. Would help me a lot since I only have 56k still and wont have DSL until the end of the month.

he means can he d/l the patch ready for when he gets the game
this wud help me aswell , i am also on 56 k , and wud like to d/l the patch now , so when i get ffxi , i cud just copy the files into the directory and play , so i dont have to wait extra once i have the game

so is there anywhere we can d/l the patch ready ?

I don't think that can be done. But I might be wrong anyway...
Try copying all the files from your friend's FFXi folder and paste it all in yours. That's one way I know.

Ya it can be done. You just place the patch files in the directory the client would normally look for patches to apply; probably something like /patches. The client then wouldnt have to download the patches but could immediately begin to decompress/apply them to the client. If the client patches on a per-file basis you then just need to have the already patched files in the game directory. The thing is we have to be able to download the patches or the patched files from somewhere. If Square had some more brains they would put the patched files in zip file to be downloaded from their site for slow connection people. It's impossible to play the game with just those files so why the heck not.
