Black screen at char creation screen..... sounds can still be heard... what to do?

As above..... everytime i log into the game and press the char creation button the screen would black out while leaving the music intact..... anyone can tell me whats happening? appreciate it thanks..... =D

I think I might know how to solve this. Go to FFXi config from your START button and serah the options for "Simple character creation" or something like that. It should allow you to view static images when you try to create a character. The main reason why you got black screen is probably your graphic card is not strong enough to handle all the rendering. But that's just my theory. Hope you got it thru.
