I just enabled this... thank you for this info, my game looks absolutely amazing now in 2048x2048! I'm running a 3.2 ghz processor, with a 256mg Nvdia card, along with a Gigabite of ram. Do you think I'll be able to keep up this level of graphics in the higher traffic zones? |

This is probably long overdue, but some people were requesting for in-game FFXI screenshots to compare. Bear with me ![]() The three shots are all from Qufim, outside the Delkfutt Tower entrance, if anyone cares to know. This post's attachment is a screenie taken at 2048x2048 resolution. |

All my shots are captured at 1280x960 BMP, then scaled down to 800x600 JPEG in Photoshop. This one is at background resolution 1600x1600. Frankly, I can't see much of a difference between 2048 and 1600. Perhaps:- 1) My card cannot even produce the 2048 juice, and is actually displaying at 1600. 2) The difference between 1600 and 2048 is negligible to the human eye. 3) After compression from .bmp to .jpeg, and resizing from 1280x960 to 800x600, the differences between the 2 have been minimised. Even so, in my original 1280x960 shots, the difference is not easily noticed. |

This one is at 1024x1024 background resolution. The difference between this and the previous two is more pronounced. Check out the thigh (oh, please, it's a mass of polygons ) of the white-haired Elvaan on the left. See the jaggies? Eww.Running on 2.53 GHz P4, Hercules (Radeon) 9700 Pro, 512MB RAM, without anti-aliasing nor anisotropic filtering (I don't think the game even supports these). |
