it is a dollar not .10 or .06 cents those are pro-rated charges for the remander of the billing cycle left in that month. Square-enix is setup to bill once monthly. All the charges go out in one shot.

Does that make it 1 character slot for free or are there 5 free slots (because I saw a screenshot with 5 slots) and each one after that costs a dollar? What's the number?

Yeah, I have a question about this. I created a character and then decided that I wanted to change and be another character (different race type) so I deleted the first char and created a new one. It charged me a dollar for doing that, even though I only have one char right now. Will I be charged an additional $1.00 per month even though I only have one char? I hope not. Maybe I should call PlayOnline and ask them about this.

You're charged according to how many content IDs you own. If you went into the content ID menu and bought a new one you'll be charged. If you used the original ID then you won't by deleting the old character and remaking it you won't be charged no matter how many times you do it.

Also ALL content IDs are free for the first 30 days from regestering your POL ID. Just remember to delete them if you don't want to get charged.
