Well, I'm in a bit of a pickle right now, begining to freak out.

I picked up my copy the english FFXI today, came home installed it all with no problems, I logged into my Import JP Account with no problem, and downloaded all the updates. Where I began to run into trouble is when I would try to activate the expansion. It asks for your POL ID and PW and when I put them in it gives me an error saying that my ID and PW are incorrect, then at the bottom it says something about not being able to use them because it is a japanese account and there are regional differences (something along those lines).

Also when I go to support everything requires me to enter my POL ID and PW and I get the same error message. To top it off my email doesn't seem to work at the moment either, anyone with any information would be immensly appreciated!

btw - I can get in game with no problem everything is in english and works well, if I could only get the expansion working...

I am having the same problem too and it looks like there is only one fix. We probably have to buy the JP expansion and register that content ID in japanese. Unless anyone else here knows another way around it.

I'm having this same problem also. I don't see why having a JP account would have anything to do with unlocking the expansion. I could understand the need to use the JP playonline viewer to fix any content ID stuff, but this doesn't make sense. Do they expect us to buy the JP expansion everytime a new one comes out?

so ur sayin that u have a JP account and the game but with ou the Expansion

then u bought the Na Version game which includes everything.

then u r usin ur JP account on NA - u can play the game in full english text but can not access the Expansion. (Y or N)

u mean like u can not get to Korroloka which u need the Expansion for it? hmmm...???

You can use your JP Playonline ID to play the NA version. Everything is in English and works fine. However, I never bought the JP expansion because I was waiting to buy the NA version which comes with it. They won't let us register the expansion because it is a JP account, which doesn't make any sense. So right now I have to play the game like I've been playing it so far without the expansion ><;

i see - but if u have a JP code for expansion pack maybe then u can access the expansion in NA version too

i guess if u hve to buy the JP expansion pack if u want to access the na expansion pack (i think - it does make sense though)

I can't believe they're going to force us to buy 2 copies of each expansion. Did anyone get a reply from square on this? I haven't contacted them yet.

I really don't want to delete my 3-4 month played char and make a new one with NA :mad:
And I'm not going to spend money on 2 expansions, they just don't deserve that.
