I just picked up FFXI and installed it, and patched it and EVERYTHING took me like 2 hours! And now I try to go play it and:

tada! All my textures are gray, and when I go to play the game everything is just black. What the F is going on? Anyone know?

Hmm sounds like your Video card settings to me, try updating your drivers?

no it can't be, I'm not like a PC game noob. I have everything on my PC up to date with Drivers, 52.16 Drivers for my Geforce FX 5600 with 256 MB AGP. I can play both Halo for the PC, and Medal of Honor Allied Assault perfectly fine.

There's gotta be somethin else goin on here thats wrong. I checked my files for FFXI with the Play Online check file thing, and it said all my files were fine.

hmm check your video settings for enable fog emulation table and tweak with that, my benchmark looked like that screenshot at one point exactly like that
