Will a SiS 650 graphics card work with FFXI? It doesn't matter if it does, because I'm getting a new Graphics card if it isn't compatible. But it would be nice not to have to spend $300 total to play the game.

how many megs does your Vid Card have? I think the minimum should be 64, because ive seen a GeForce 2 Ultra (64 megs) suffer badly with FFXI, so if your card has no more than 64megs, i dont even recommend trying it out, just get a nice GeForce 4 Ti 4200, once FX's release, the prices will go down drastically.

anhoo, go for the 8x AGP is you got a mobo that supports it

Do u think that we wil need better graphics cards later when they start having more and more updates to the game?

no, you wont, because you will be running the updates "expansions" from FFXI's engine, which in turn will not make any difference, but i think that getting the bare minimum its REALLY not worth it. (engine is just the bare bones on the game that runs the game, for example, Half life is the engine, and Counter-Strike are mods that run OFF the engine).

::EDIT:: as long as you can play FFXI (original) fine, with little to no flaws, then any other expansion that comes out will play the same way... hope this helped

as the game is taking so long to be released in uk, do u think that by the time it does, it will need better specs than the US and Jap versions becos i am getting a new pc soon and if the game is having a release next yr, i ownt be able to play it.

No, mine is the GeForce FX. but i will be buying the ASUS brand, more expensive, but after my experience with other Nvidia cards (MSI, Leadtek, and such) ive come to the conclusion that ASUS are the better boards.

No you wont, whatever people are using right now to play FFXI confortably, is what you'll need, but if your like me, and want to play Unreal 2, or Doom 3, better start savin up, buy urself a nice comp, and a GeForce FX
