You should be able to play. It all depends on the latency you would receive from being in Brazil and opening a connection with a US server, but you shouldn't have a problem at all if you are on broadband.

I played with Australians in Asheron's Call 2 and they didn't have any prob's.

No, when FFXI is released in the US for the PC, it will all be in English. You'll be set.

and, there are a way to test the game before pay to play online?

I'm here with a copy of the japanese version that i download on the internet, most of you will say that i'm wrong, etc, but i love final fantasy and in my country will not have a server to play the game, i don't want to you say that i'm right, because i'm not, but as i say i love final fantasy and if there is a way just to test the game i want to play, just for this

so, if anyone can help me to run the japanese version here it will be helping not only me, but too much people on my coutry who loves this series that i will help

Ei cara ... O unico real problema e obter uma copia original do jogo. O unico jeito e importar. Lik Sang ou outra loja dessas na web vendem e mandam pro Brasil.

Ifgs, your latency should be better than mine, as you are nearer to Japan than me ... All my data goes thru USA fuzzy networks and novelled backbones. Their stuff is optimized for their own users. All packets passing by from other countries have lower priority, so we here in South America get a bit of delay...

It doesn't really affect FFXI much as it was designed to bear with that and make it allmost unioticeable for the users. Very clever....
