| Well, this may or may not help, but a game freeze could be anything. Question is do you ever crash?
Game freeze are hard to figure out what is wrong as there are no errors. Crashes are easier because the blue screen of death tells you something.
What do you usually do that results in the freeze?
I have had similar problems where I had video problems that caused crashes and occasionally freezes. I uninstalled all remote control applications like pcAnywhere, Terminal Server, etc. and it solved the problem. A virus/trojan/worm can also do that to you as it may interfere with system functions.
More detail is needed on your freezes to truely figure out what is wrong. What was the last major thing you did to your system near the time when the freezes started to happen? Did you install a new hardware, software, driver? Did another crash occur? Maybe the files are corrupted on the disk and you need to run disk check (chkdsk c: /r [or /f]).
