Importers with Beta?

I received the beta from nVidia today, but whenever I went to install the game(after installing POLV), it gave me an error before even beginning to install that said "????? 2711?? US?" I have no idea how to decipher it, and the Microsoft message said that it was a "Fatal Error" but gives no other information. I have the import installed and working, but I cannot even get the beta to install at all. Has anybody else had this problem? Thank you for any information!

I would imagine that if you hace the Japanese client installed on your computer, that the beta is trying to install in the same directory. It could be that or the software comes with a check to see if any other versions of the clients are installed and aborts the install if there are. Perhaps if you un-install your Japanese client, you can install the Beta.

Be sure to also report this strange error to Square-Enix in whatever mannar they are asking you to. This is an important error that they should address. Any errors you come into contact with or any fixes you find should be given to Square-Enix or any parties that they have designated.

I did report it to Square-Enix, but I have installed the game into a different directory, so I am not sure if that would be a problem. I also uninstalled the Japanese client to try it. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved quickly.

Please keep us posted on this. i really dont want to uninstall the import to install the beta even though i still dont play the import atm. its just a real bitch to reinstall hehe.

I want to know if i can totally install the beta safely in another directory.

Woo hoo! The problem was with the Japanese installation of the game. I had to uninstall it in order to have it work. I wonder if any other importers have this problem?

Damnit. Now ill have to uninstall it. But ill TRY first hehe.

Yeah, me and Gunsmoke also had that problem... I really don't want to uninstall my import version though. Hmm...
