I'll click the button but nothing will load. I'm not exactly sure why it does that but can somebody send me a copy of their gampadconfig.exe? You can send it to Tempest8748@aol.com. Thanks. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-19-2003, 03:19 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 48 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 1,149 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,149 Donate | Hey, I'm having the same problem, you wouldn't happen to be using a kiky x-series usb converter are u?

I just bought a new adapter today and it works fine. The one I bought was a cheap looking radioshack brand. I guess you should return the Kiky. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-19-2003, 04:07 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Posts: 65 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 388 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 388 Donate | Also, if it's of any relevance, I was using Windows 2000 Professional. I went as far as formatting my hard drive in an attempt to fix it but it didn't work, so don't try that! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-21-2003, 05:34 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Inside Posts: 188 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 452 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 452 Donate | Hmm I have the same problem. But mine cant even access the config itself. I was following the "PS2 Controller on PC" guide on this site, and when it comes to open the "Final Fantasy XI Config" menu, an error comes up saying "the final fantasy xi config.exe has encountered a problem and needs fixing" or somthing along those lines.
I have tried numerous times, but it just wont work. Anyone know why this is happening??
My operating system is WinXP pro

Doesn't anyone know how to fix it?? Error pops up straight away. But to make it even worse, I dont know how to log back into my POL account!! .......*sigh* I got my "Member" log name back, but it keeps telling me to type my POL registration code in and when I do it wont accept it because its already activated......................... *holds head*
Can ANYONE tell me what I'm doing wrong? how can I get to the stage where I just click on my name and it brings me to the "game, service & support etc" menu?? I cant possibly need another registration code!?!?! Just because I reinstalled???
HHHHHEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!! !!! *cough* *cough* | Quote: | Hmmmm

kiky x-series usb converter

I don't have a one that has been CONFIRMED to work properly for XP. I may buy this one: http://www.merconnet.com/products.ph...tID=44&CatID=5 | I have that one and it works quite well in the Game Controllers setup in the control panel but i have yet to test it in FFXI cuz i dont have the game! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-22-2003, 06:55 AM | #11 (permalink) | | ^.^* <.<; ~.~' ._. i didnt feel like fdisking and formatting my hard drive so i went and bought a computer controller *usb port* and it works fine, i bought the P2500 Rumble Force, made by Saitek, it cost around 30 USD and it works greate, just set the L2 and R2 buttons to buttons 5 and 6 since it only hase two shoulder buttons.
to log back into your play online account, you have to click the second option when you first log on to it. it'll ask you for your screen name, then you have to put your pol id and password in the bottom to boxe's. after that it takes you to user selection, and its pretty much the same from there. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-22-2003, 10:21 AM | #12 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Inside Posts: 188 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 452 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 452 Donate | OK, in the first screen of the POL viewer (after the "press any button" screen) it takes me to the member page. Now I've only got 1 member account there, so because I want to logon I click on the member name and it takes me to a page with (Logon, Profile Update, Cancel Registration... etc) ok so now I press logon, it then asks me to enter my member password, which I do, then it takes me to another screen which wants me to enter my POL password, so I type it in REALLY carefully understanding that its cap sensitive, after I've entered it in I press connect. Now a box comes up with an exclimation mark "!" and some other Japanese text and it takes me straight back to the member page....
The only way I can enter my account is by choosing "Guest Logon" where it gives me a menu that asks for my POL name and password, I have no problems with that! So its not my POL name and password thats the problem.
Does anyone know why this is?? Another thing aswell, when I first installed POL it had 2 member names, one was the name I created at the beginning of the sign-up process and the other was called "New User" which I have no idea how it got there, but I had to use that to actually login, I couldn't use MY member name to sign-up.
I suppose its ok if I just use "Guest Logon" I mean it allows me to enter the game and all, but I would like help on how to fix it to the way its suppose to be. Its like my POL details arnt attached to my member details.
Oh well............ I'll foget about the problem with the "FFXI config.exe" error for now lol Keshin is back! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
