Inputing Jap in FFXI... works in windows XP

Could someone telle me what's wrong? i type japanese perfectly in windows xp, but when in the game on in playonline when i type kanas i just get "??". I need to get it work to make my maccros :/

I did search in the archive, but couldn't find anything..

Also what is the use of the black magic "Bind"?

You know, I had this same exact problem. I installed the East Asian language files, and everything was still displaying as "???"
Try changing the windows encoding of programs to Japanese om the regional settings menu. That's what I did, fixed the problem for me. Hope I was of some help. Hope you get the game working soon.
