Was like "ANGRY WIFE!!!" or "ATTACK WIFE!!!" or something, followed by a bunch of squiggles and his WS or JA or whatever it was he was doing. | Originally Posted by someone who just spent ten minutes with feba | | wtf? I have a crappy vid card. Your WOW screens looked bad compared to your FFXI and I can imagine how bad that game would look on my comp. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-27-2007, 12:49 PM | #9 (permalink) | | RABBITGAME Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Confirmed Posts: 2,875 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 83 Thanked 213x in 164 Posts Gil: 21,879 Bank: 7,289 Total Gil: 29,168 Donate | Re: SNAGIT Folder: The Second Clearing Originally Posted by Skoal | | The reason for my asking is that your FFXI screens look a lot nicer than mine do. The problem isn't so much the graphics, but the style. Too few polygons, and the textures are too simple and oversized. They've added a lot of uneccessary shine to the game that more advanced graphics cards can take advantage of, but it doesn't really mask the ugly face of it all. I'm sure they did this to cut back on graphical lag, something FFXI does suffer from time to time. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-27-2007, 12:54 PM | #10 (permalink) | | Pointy Stick Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 1,887 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 416 Thanked 327x in 201 Posts Gil: 7,886 Bank: 31,881 Total Gil: 39,767 Donate | Re: SNAGIT Folder: The Second Clearing Man I would examine the hell out of the Xenobs

I happen to love the way my Blood Elves look, but it IS a completely different style, and has a much lower polygon count. Still, the game looks much better in motion than it does in most screenshots. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-27-2007, 02:19 PM | #12 (permalink) | | RABBITGAME Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Confirmed Posts: 2,875 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 83 Thanked 213x in 164 Posts Gil: 21,879 Bank: 7,289 Total Gil: 29,168 Donate | Re: SNAGIT Folder: The Second Clearing The expansion content does look a little better, but meh. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-27-2007, 03:23 PM | #13 (permalink) | | Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Dumfries, Virgina Posts: 1,817 Style: Dark - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 767 Thanked 161x in 126 Posts Gil: 2,648 Bank: 7,149 Total Gil: 9,797 Donate | Re: SNAGIT Folder: The Second Clearing Damn >_>; I'm tempted to go buy the expansion and grind to 70 on blood elf just from that screen shot..... side note.... wheres some cool UI's apps/mods i can find? o.O Any to make it 'look' like ffxi's(including keybindings)? <.< >.> <.< >.> Adventures of Akashimo Hakubi & Nekoai Nanashi Originally Posted by Taskmage | | I can see it now. For some it looks like they've chosen one that makes things messier and more complicated, but others choose some that assist in their raiding duties. Useless mostly.
I use Titanmod for Stancesets and the Location. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-28-2007, 01:33 PM | #15 (permalink) | | Loaded With Sodium Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: Jul 2005 Posts: 7,953 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 446 Thanked 1,584x in 999 Posts Gil: 28 Bank: 23,238 Total Gil: 23,265 Donate | Re: SNAGIT Folder: The Second Clearing I like my WoW UI to be as minimal as possible. I do everything via key binds, so I don't need a thousand buttons clogging up my screen. I know some folks operate via mouse clicks, so they need the exact opposite.
I just happen to find the default UI artwork to be bland and uninspired. I know not everyone feels that way though, which is why it's no nice that we can choose.
Lately I've been attracted to some of the minimal layouts made with Discord mods, but I am sticking with my Mirage compilation for a while longer, I think. I don't like the way the discord folks always seem to float everything in the middle of the screen. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
