I've had a few experiences with this new claim system before, also. A friend and I were just about to pick off something that aggroed. We swung at it first, neither of us had provoke, flash, or any of those other major hate abilities. At the sametime, a SAM comes by and swings it, very soonly assisted by a WAR and RDM. To me, they came off camera as I didn't see them. But neither my SAM friend nor I thought it would of been something to consider. So, here their PT of 3 swinging at the mob vs my friend and I. Just when both groups realized the monster's name had not changed to red or purple (remained white), their warrior provokes it.

I don't remember what we fought anymore, but just experiencing this new aspect of anti-mpk was memorable enough.

I believe on the website SE also explains how their system should work. From the illustrations and descriptions, they do explain that one person can 'hold' claim if he/she can pull more enmity. However, there are cases where the initial cause of enmity can still have enmity claim, but not target claim. So in a sense, it's kinda like MPK.

Ulli is absolutely a nightmare to get from the gil sellers now because of this claim system. Now they sell the stones for 10 mil + on our server. It seems that Ulli only pops once or twice a day now and they got that sh*t locked down!

Not on Ragnarok. People are really getting pissed at the gilsellers. I mean, even the bigger HNMLSs that are "finished" with sky will come and camp Ulli. And trust me, they have their bots going. Because gilsellers are starting to give up on Ulli, they never get the claim now, lol.

no I would be an adult and acept iot, I did not getnerate enuff hate to keep it so I lost it, that is how it should be seen here, the new system is working fine and I like it, yeah its alittle anoying, but it helps alot too. People are just going to have to learn how to voke/pull better, you cant just tap it and get it like before, you have to FIGHT for it....good luck :p

Go outside Bastok, on RNG. Shadowbind a bee. It gets claimed. We had hate, from the aggro, it aggroed OUR alliance. Then OUR RNG, used Shadowbind on it. We had the legitimate rights to the claim. This is a glitch on SE's part, that's why I'm complaining. They in no way had the claim. Technically, we had enough hate, you'll even notice it tried to hit our RNG, but missed. WE HAD THE CLAIM, BUT IT WAS STILL YELLOW. This isn't the claim system working correctly. It's a glitch, and I don't know if you guys see it, but it's a glitch, not how SE intended it to work. I was told this by a GM, and he said they're working on it, I'm just a little pissed off that we HAD HATE, but it didn't claim.

that is NOT a glitch, attacking it and it still being yellow IS part of the new system, you can not instant claim anymore, unless you do something painfull, no other PT is in the general area
Just because you dont like the new system does not mean it is broke, they would have seen this "glitch" in the testing phase anyway

I don't see how anyone can claim that the new system is fine and working as intended when a GM came out and said that it is "fubared" and "being worked on." True, GMs are not SE, but they're certainly closer to its internal workings than any of us are.

I don't see how it's not a glitch. Go and do something that's low enmity like steal, or mug. A samurai in my HNMLS claimed King Arthro with Mug. That is a low enmity move. The glitch is the fact that it aggroed, THEN we tried to claim, and it went unclaimed. We had hate on the mob, then it was voked.

If the system does that to all mobs, then why does:

Shadowbind claim Zipacna.

Mug claim King Arthro.

Ranged attacks, even missed ones, claim XP mobs.

Explain that to me, please. If this isn't a glitch, then why is it that we were not able to claim Shikigami weapon with a job ability that usually claims NMs. It's because of the new claim system, it went from Agrro to being shadowbound and not claimed. Enmity, or hate, did NOT leave my alliance until it was provoked. This is a GLITCH. The GM told me he's gotten many calls like this since April. I would have screen shotted my conversation with the GM, had it not been for me playing on Xbox.

Shadowbind DOES claim.

Shadowbind SHOULD have claimed Shiki Weapon, because hate did not leave our alliance.

The mob went unclaimed, due to a glitch in the new claiming system.

I don't understand how you can not see it was glitched. It was clearly a mistake, and we should have had the claim.

Don't tell me it's not a glitch until you actually test out non-damaging job abilities like steal and shadowbind on mobs. They DO claim, had the weapon not aggroed our SMN, we would have had claimed. This IS A GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM.

This is slightly on topic, I'm playing a low level Hume WAR. (My first character.) Every time I attempt to claim (I guess is the word) a creature, I run up to it, pull my weapon, and before I get the first swing and hit to get it to be mine some caster hits it with Dia from a distance and claims it. Is there any way to reduce or negate the time it takes the game to draw the weapon?


This annoys me, because (I know people hate this argument, but it is true) in "real life" I can quick draw a single-blade dirk in less than a second. And yet, my character takes four weeks to draw a weapon in game. If a warrior of olde took that long to draw a weapon they'd be a puddle of icky on the floor before they could think.

No, there's not, but at level 5 you get Provoke, which is nearly instant and has a decent range.
