Re: Why the new claim system P***es me off greatly.

I can see how it makes you mad to lose the claim, especially to an immature bunch like them, however, I don't really see anything wrong with what happened. Sure, you shot first but they were the first to build enough hate. The rules are different from before but they seem fair to me.

At least you don't lose claim while killing a mob like you used to. I think that was a much bigger problem.

You can see in the picture, Cort, our RNG, used Shadowbind, then it became unbound as the other LS took it. He got the "Target already Claimed. Cannot attack." message. They refused to give it back, saying "Blame SE". But this thread isn't about them. I just hate this new system. Basically, anything less than voke, like Steal, won't claim, if the mob has aggroed. SE needs to fix this. This is very seriously becoming an issue, especially since this isn't the first time.

I know TheGrandMom hates it. Anyone else?
I don't care for it myself.

I have an example of how the claim system works great. We slept a robber crab that aggro'd our 3man skillup party in Kuftal Tunnel. WHM casts Sleep, I overwrite it with Sleep II and NIN uses Jubaku and then vokes it. Some WAR from an unseen exp party comes up, hits the crab with a ranged attack and claims it while waking it up (it's now purple to the three of us) He runs back and the crab follows for like 1/2 a second before it comes back to our party with the color turned back to yellow. The WAR vokes it and it turns purple again, and then runs off with our crab. Not even 3 seconds later, it comes back from a long ways, now yellow again and starts to just "hang" with us. Sleep = massive hate and the NIN has a lot of +enmity gear. Makes sense.

Edit: So instead of relying on just Shadowbind, your tanks should've /assist and voked off as well. Start engaging and start fighting. I think SE's trying to reduce pulls made to "convenience" alliances so that they don't have to clear the room or something.
Cort said next time he's going to claim the right way, with Eagle Eye Shot.

You see, the problem was, we had all the hate on the mob, it aggroed, then we shadowbound, it should've been purple. But, it didn't go, and they voked it, about a good 3 seconds after the shadowbind.

The claim system's fucked, if you don't care about it, try camping something for 3 weeks, and claiming, only to have it taken because you didn't get enough hate on it.

Taskmage, have I ever told you I love you? <3

I doubt SE will do anything good though. :/

Re: Why the new claim system P***es me off greatly.

I don't think its a matter of "will they do anything" but rather "will they do anything in a reasonable ammount of time"

The more people bitch about it - and by bitch I mean file a resonably mature bug report every time even the smallest thing broken happens - the more resonable the time will get. Still, I wouldn't expect it any time soon.

Double Post Edited:
Also, if you're after awareness, file GM reports anyhow. Yes, I know in-game GMs can't do anything about it and will just tell you to file a bug report, but the more documentation there is, the more awareness among staff there is, and the more likely it is to get fixed.

Re: Why the new claim system P***es me off greatly.

There were at least 30 GM calls from this incident. Not only did we call it, but we actually had other linkshells call GMs against the linkshell who claimed it after we did. The GM got to me about 45 minutes after the call and I'm like. "It's over, but <linkshell> did take the NM from us, because of this stupid claim system." "I know you guys have probably gotten this alot, especially from this incident, but this claim system fix is HORRIBLE!!!"

The GM responded, "We know, we've been trying to find a happy medium for this, but as of now, the claim system is Fubared, much like I told the RNG who claimed, you should use EES or Provoke next time." "We're working on this problem." "By the way, your LS didn't try to MPK the LS who "took" the mob from you?" Me: "No, they aggroed a bomb, and it went Kaboom on them." GM: "lol, hope you guys got a laugh out of that, but like I said, we're trying to work on it, but right now, we have a big workload with other things, like the next job changes." Me: "Can I hear some?" GM: "Sorry, can't tell you what the Development team is working on, I'd like to, but I'd get fired." Me: "Ok, thanks tho " GM: "lol, thanks for not yelling at me. See you again."

I forgot his name, but at least I'm glad they they're trying to find a middle ground for this bug.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with what they did.
They're new rules, play by them, and stop bitching.
It's your fault for not getting enough hate- personally, I'm not a big fan of the "hit it first, it's yours" system.

Re: Why the new claim system P***es me off greatly.

So if you use Steal on a mob that drops a priceless item, and only pops once every 20+ hours, and it doesn't get claimed, and somebody comes along and vokes it, are you going to be all calm and be like, "It's the new rules!!!!" No, you're going to be pissed, because you got it first, just like we got Shikigami Weapon first. I hate people who will tell other people to quit bitching, but when the glove is on the other hand, I'm pretty sure they'll get pissed. Because I will bet any amount of money, that if you got something taken from you, you'd be pissed off, just like the rest of us.

Re: Why the new claim system P***es me off greatly.

At least it comforts me to know my HNMLS is getting me this robe, lol. We need 3 robes. One for Onijiro, one for Mack, our newest SMN, and I'm getting one, even though my SMN is only 38. Got Diabolos last night, so I decided I REALLY want to take SMN to 75. They're like "Dude, we'll get you one, just because we're pissed off, and we don't want to camp this shit again."

Just remember everyone, if you've had issues with this and detest it as much as we do:

http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/gen...ix.broken.html

PLEASE for all that is good in the world, send them a complaint!! (And this doesn't just apply to this issue either!) Remember to be civil though and coherant! Punctuation is your friend and internet shorthand is not!

**Had to give your thread a little boost because it can do so much good Taskmage**

He already posted it, lol. And I already sent the complaint to SE, and I'm making sure EVERYONE in my LS does it too.
