whats wrong with using a normal print screen for a screen shot?

that works fine for me on most games ...

The SS program for ffxi has a fixed resolution. It sizes the image to 512x382. You also cannot have the log box with the ffxi SS. Fraps and hypersnap allow you to take full size SS.
