Thank you. I have a Radeon 9600 SE 128MB card on 1280x960 res 1024x1024 background res. I used the background res hack for a bit, but it slowed me down (not a lot, but noticebly ).

Menkhor, what do you think is the best starting city?

Well, I personally am I resident of Windurst. I chose it at first for 2 reasons:

1) Me and my bestfriend started the game together, he wanted Hume (home town is Bastok) and I wanted an Elvaan (home town San D'oria), so we decided to go to a neutral place (Windurst). And,

2) We looked at the pictures of the places and decided Windurst was the best looking. It was sunnier and more home-like.

And I'm happy with my choice. Bastok is too gloomy for me; even though it is a cool looking city, the lands outside are barren and desolate. Boring to me. San would be my second choice, awesome city, with average lands outside. They have the castle look though, which is cool. Windurst is the nicest looking I still think. It is big, sunny, has a cool layout (on top of water), and the outlying regions are sunny and pleasant.

But in the end, it's upto you. Choosing the city your race is from (Galka and Hume = Bastok, Elvaan = San D'oria, Mithra and Taru = Windurst) will get you a useful ring for the beginning, and helps in the roleplaying category. But I love Windurst, it's awesome.

I am going to be a hume also, and I was thinking about starting in bastok to get that ring, but I don't like how it looks as much as the other two cities.

So how helpful is this ring?
