Is there something wrong with the2007 edition for the 360 cuz ive just recived it and it doesnt recognise the disc,its not scratched it'sa uk edition so nout to do with region code stuff,and it's brand new,has this happened before to someone ?

I'm not gonna comment on the grammar errors there... If you have a UK 360 then it should work. Try putting another 360 disc in and see if it works, if it does then its most likely a bad disc. You're positive its a 360 version and not a regular PC? Just figured I'd ask. :-)

lol yeah its defo a 360 disc ,i just thoght there be a reason why it woudnt work at least
,ill have to send it back and get a replacement and if that doesnt work then try a 2008 edition
but i cant get one of those anywhere no place has them in stock

The xbox has a deal where it wont play certain cd's, i turn my in cause it wouldnt play cod 4, but it would if i screw with it a bunch of times and then it will play it, but yeah i returned my xbox got a new one and now it plays just fine, but the retailer did say that is a problem that eventually some xbox moddels will get to and is very common too.

I get this sometimes on my X-Box. What I have to do is eject the disc and reload it which usually clears the problem. Don't know if that will be helpful, but it's something to try.

hopefully its not my xbox it is a new console bought just before christmas ,the cd seemed it was sratched even tho they listed it as new so even if i do get a replacement thta works its proberly been used with the code,im assuming ill have to order again,but even fidning a new copy of the 2007 edtion is hard enough,even with a decent tiem searching...

I was gonna say why not just copy your COD4 to the hard drive, but you said you got a new one so problem solved lol. I now have my COD4 & WAW, GoW, and Battlefield: Bad Company installed on the HD, I have only had 1 freeze since I did that.

Yeah that was last year before the new x box live expirience, by the way i havent messed with that download thing, how do you down load the games into the hard drive?

The problem is not with your disks. After formatting my hard drive and re installing ff11 from scratch it worked fine. but then i had a power cut and got the disk read error again. Its the new xbox experience, if you switch off the xbox or it cuts off without completely shutting down playonline it corrupts the playonline installation so you get the disk read error. The solution it to install the playonline view to the hard drive and run from there. theres an option in played games you select playonline viewer and select install to hard drive, after that you select run from hard drive, Ive not had any problems after i did this

Thats not the problem that she has, again, this was before xbox live expirience.

The "Unplayable Disc" error has also been heavily reported. The error appears to be limited to the Hitachi-LG CD/DVD ROM drives that replaced the earlier Toshiba-Samsung drives. The error message is preceded by a loud series of grinding noises and the system returning to the dashboard. From that point forward, any disc that is put in the unit will result in the "Unplayable Disc" error (although if the user was to eject and close the disc tray in quick succession the disc may sometimes play). Remember theres like 8 diff x box 360 moddels, and that includes x box 360 valhalla and jasper.Jasper boards can be identified by their power rating, as they use 12.1 amps on the 12 volt line. Falcon boards used 14.2 amps and original Xenon and Zephyr boards used 16.5 amps.

i was able to get the game to play but not on my xbox it only worked on my brothers which is an older model xbox (which i kinda had to switch with mine without telling him,prob kill me if he found out) so problem solved ,cept it was hardly an ideal solution....

I had a problem like this with Fable2 I took it to blockbusters and they did some buffing thing on the disk and it worked.

i just purchased ffxio 2008 collection last night. spent about 4 hours trying to register and gave up with no success (posted about that too). came home from work today n tried again and still nothing. tried 30 mins later like customer support said and all a sudden the disk is unreadable. it reads the disk on the dashboard but not when trying to play it. returned it to gamestop n got a new one and again unreadable. tried another game and it read fine. tried another game n it read fine and so on and so forth. so ... now i dunno. im so fed up tryin to get this f'n game to work and registered n stuff im about to return it and never loook back again. at the same time all i wanna do is play

I mentioned above about installing the POL viewer to the hard drive on the xbox. go to played games and select POL viewer and Install to HDD. I had the same problem, its to do with the XME dashboard corrupting your POL installation so u get disk read error. If your xbox plays other games fine and buying a new disk doesnt solve the problem they try my suggestion.

Your lucky i bought a new xbox took it back and got a 2nd new xbox and a new copy of the game to have it work once and disk read error the second time i tried it. v nearly smashed the xbox. after installing it to the HDD it works fine now everytime

far as the registering thing goes IDK, you could have been trying to join when they were doing one of the regular registration server maintanence.

I live in the United states and this seems to happen to my disk to sometimes.
