Never heard of KaneTrade, I will take a look at it.

And for the security token I just want to add a word of warning. It is clearly said that in the unlucky event that the key would stop functioning (break, etc...) then you would have to contact the service center (in japan) and then AUTHORIZE yourself as the account holder... Do you remember the Name and Adress of the account and do you speak fluent japanese ? If you answered no to *any* of those questions, I would suggest you do *not* order the security key.

I know, it sucks not too have this 80 additional space in your inventory (I know I'll miss 'em) but better that and not be loosing the account because you can't login anymore into the account and cannot prove that you are the legitimate owner of said account.

I screenshotted my POL account information page which shows the name and address we all typed in from Ping's tutorial. I can forward that to whoever helps me in Japan if a service center call has to be made. I'd really prefer to have use of a legit JP address though, for the paper bill that gets sent and such.

Also, you can manually unlink the token yourself from the members site before it breaks.

Hi, Im a new member and I picked up a copy of FFXI on friday around 3pm CST. After installing the playonline view to the hard drive and installing FFXI, I tried to register with PlayOnline. Ive noticed several people have had errors invovling the servers being busy and wrong credit information. I deduced the problem lies with their servers, and the website said they would be down from 11pm yesterday until 3am today. However, I am still unable to register, and was just wondering if anyone knows when the servers will actually be up.

I recently purchased another copy of FFXI (US version), but I can't seem to get ANY credit card to register correctly (I get the invalid credit card number/server is busy error), and I'm really confused as to why this would be happening. Customer service is closed right now, so I'm wondering if anyone knows what causes this error, and, if so, what is the resolution? It's been this way for several days now, so I thought the problem was that I was using a newly issued credit card (my original one just expired), so I transferred some money to an older card of mine, but, as I stated before, it didn't work either.

EDIT:

To elaborate a bit, I think that it wouldn't accept my newly issued card because the original card has an expiration date of this month (you know, that period of being in limbo), but why won't the system accept a new, non-related credit card then? I guess I'll just wait and keep trying.

Hi, I had same problem to continue playing ffxi, but it is fixed by sutocorp , I bought webmoney form sutocorp (Stock already available )

I paid using Citibank (bank wire) to sutocorp , and I get the code via email quickly

my account is now active, nice.....

Thank you sutocorp, I will try using your buying service from japan to buy magazine/manga in next week

i just bought ffxi online. i have never played it before bit i have played pretty much all the other final fantasys. i was extremely excited to pick it up and finally get a chance to play it and i too got stuck on the registration screen. after reading countless threads on different sites i realized it wasnt just me. i called playonline today (april 21 2009) and they knew my problem before i had a chance to tell them. they said all they can tell me is that they have a lot of ppl flooding the lines with the same problem and that the servers are extremely busy due to that fact. they told me all i can do is try every 30 mins because of a theft fraud security thing. then concluded in saying that is all they can tell me at this time. i am very frusterated and all i wanna do is play the damn game already. i have yet to complete registration but i am determined to keep trying tonight when i get off of work. i am looking foward to gettin online and finally diving in to this mmorpg but the future looks grim. i will keep posted if i get registered or would appreciate if someone else would vice versa. hope to see u in the ffxi world soon. best of luck to anyone with reg error.

Yeah, I found those threads also. It looks as if this is a universal issue at the moment (with the North American version, anyway). Still no luck.

The most active discussion I've seen can be found in a thread on the Killing Ifrit forums. Allso, a GM quoted in that discussion said to wait at least 35 minutes between card entry attempts.

Has anyone been able to register in the last couple days? It's been two days and I can not get this game registered. I keep getting the same USC code over and over again. The even more embarrassing thing for Play Online is that their Customer Service can't be reached. All I get is a busy signal on their phone number and I've waited about hour for someone in chat and I get no one there either.

I've played a lot of MMOs and I've never seen something so ridiculous as this.

that happened to me yesterday. i called them as soon as they opened 9:00 pst (12 est is my time). i got someone in like 2 mins but she said she cant help just to keep trying every half hour. customer service is horrible. i been trying for the past 3 hours to register but nothing yet. 20 mins till my next attemp

In other words, practically no one has been able to register an account over the past few days. I keep getting the USC-60257 error followed by the 5111 error, just like everyone else. As I said above, I'm referring to the US version, however. The CSRs say to just keep trying to register every 30-35 minutes.

To quote another post from a player who spoke with a customer service representative (see the link I provided):

SEI POL David: There are a lot of people excited about the new products and so many people are trying to register on top of those trying to update.

ME: There are people online that have tried it about that time.
seriously man, we have better things to do than try every 35 minutes. this is ridiculous.

Jayhood and Misskitten keep us updated if you are able to register, I will as well.

The just keep trying every 35 minutes is not acceptable to me. I would be okay if Playonline took 30 seconds to put something on their website stating that US registration is down. It's better to admit the problem then to sweep it under the rug.

i only played one mmorpg which was city of heroes a long time ago. i never really had the time to get into them but now that i do i was really excited to get into ffxio. guess we got our hopes up too early huh

I used the work around in the ifrit forum that Misskitten posted. I got the free trial working and in a few days I'll try registering again.
