when I started playing FF years ago I had issues with the keyboard too, then I figured out how to use the shortcuts to open menus, and how to control the camera with my thumb while I use the number pad to run. it's actually quite simple once you stop bitching about it and practice it a bit.

I cant understand why people take this as a rant I even said that in my very first post to please not misunderstand this as a rant. Is it so hard for this community to understand that as a newbie the way this game works is complicated? Most games work totally different so yeah I was describing my first impression (so yeah I played BEFORE I wrote this). And listing all of the things that made me have a hard start. Maybe I was just hoping someone would tell me theres a secret "switch" that would let me change the GUI to PC mode or something. So you can move around windows, define stuff and so on. Well..if you guys took this as a rant I am sorry but it was definatly not and everyone who read my entire post (still respect for that ) would have known. Im not a liar nor am I uninterested in this game so please stop prejudging me as if I were.
Maybe you guys wanna see everything as rant think about that haha
...anyway...I appologize for asking stuff on this forum and I will stop doing it as I can see you either get offended by others or misunderstood. Sorry I write long essays to fully describe situations which Im used to from other communities instead of having a short sentence not really describing the problem and causing more spam in the end. Well I guess this one created enough crap already so yeah go ahead and close it. I got some help...besides lotsa ganking

Nah, not mad at you for writing a LONG response, it just seemed very rant-ish. we're usually very helpful here. And I think a lot of people misunderstood what you meant, I know I did, especially now that I read this part:

There is nothing like that. I don't know that the devs ever intended to port the game to PC. I have never played a PC MMO other than this one so I like the way it's set up. I look at games like WoW and the UI makes my head hurt, lol. Guess it just takes some getting used to, but there's not much for customization.

You can try Windower [Windower.net] which has the unofficial windower. It's not endorsed by SE and is considered a third-party program, but a lot of people use it anyway because it's miles above SE's version. Also, there are some plugins that you can use, it's somewhat more customizable but still no way to move things around or anything like that. You might find some of the things useful, though, such as infobar, which gives you information on level and aggro habits of mobs you target, though I'm not sure it's 100% correct all the time. Just learn to embrace /check lol. I do use the unofficial windower and some of the plugins are useful to me and some aren't, I guess it depends on how you play, though most of them are probably more useful at higher levels than they are as a newbie. I'd think that all the extras from windower can be a bit overwhelming if you are new.

I thought to point out to you that the reason that the graphics may seem to be outdated is because this is a PS2 game that is 5 years old. Since they still support the PS2, they can not tweak the graphics so theres no reason to be nasty about the graphics.

My question was regarding to "How to know if a NPC has a quest or not" since there is no optical marker on them. You don't lose exp when you die as long as you are level 5 and under. FYI, I've been gaming since gaming began. Been there, done that.
