lol, make sure to research all the jobs on FFXIclopedia and look through the user created guides. Also look through this site at the main jobs and the unlockable advanced jobs. After you do that, pick a few and try them out and as most people say, level them all to at least level 10 so that way when you have subjob access you'll be covered up until level 20. Sad to say but I don't usually play any mage jobs, but I play Blue Mage because its a Hybrid Mage Melee + Magicks.

BTW All jobs are badass when used correctly

Actually, I have been. RDM just seems to stick out more to me than others. I'm going to end up doing WAR, DRG, and probably MNK as well. Maybe a summoner as well. Luckily I can do them all so that won't be a problem

Re: which version do you perfer?

Be careful with guides. Many of them were written 2-3 expansions ago and are obsolete. Even in cases where the job hasn't undergone radical changes, the person may have done things a certain way because of inaccurate or insufficient information (for example, it wasn't until recently that the way Accuracy affects your hit rate was figured out.)

This is especially true for the PLD job, because it has undergone some drastic changes, and better understanding of the way stats work have pretty much turned around the way the job is played.

Re: which version do you perfer?

So I went to go look for my spare keyboard because I don't want to keep switching out keyboard between my computer and my 360 and I remembered it's in a box...under more boxes...in my garage. /rawr

Don't you just hate that?

You could always get a nice cheap wireless one? (I hate cords.)

That would come across a problem XD

One more question: If I bought the 2008 pack with all the expansions for the 360, will the content ID carry over the expansions if I were to play it on my PC? Or do I need to buy the expansions? If it doesn't it wont be a problem. I just need WOTG, but it would be nice if it did carry over

Re: which version do you perfer?

I own all 3 versions. Just recently got the 360 version and I am disappointed in the performance. Sure it looks better but still suffers from choppy fps in the areas you'd expect. PC is the best platform form my experience.

The content IDs will carry over through all three playable platforms once activated. However, you will still need to install the expansions on your PC in order to play the xpac content. If you do not install the expansions on the PC, you will still be able to play, but may not access any expansion areas. Trying to login while your character is in an inaccessible area will produce an error and not allow you to login.

Ah, okay. So technically I don't need them, but in order to play them I do. Well, considering I just started playing I don't think I'll need the latest expansion just yet, unless there is something I don't know.

Re: which version do you perfer?

You won't need anything from the latest expansion until you're level 30, when you might want to unlock Dancer or Scholar. There are Campaign Ops for level 10+, but that's way more trouble than it's worth until you've taken care of bigger priorities.

Re: which version do you perfer?

I use the Xbox and it has always worked perfectly fine. However, another thing the PC has over it is the ability to take in-game screenshots and videos. Which, BTW, I have always wanted to do.

Re: which version do you perfer?

If you hook up a keyboard to the XBOX 360 that has a button marked "Print Screen" - which most PC capable USB keyboards do - you will find that pushing the "Print Screen" Button takes a screenshot on the XBOX 360 and stores the screenshot inside the POL viewer, where you can email it out...

Re: which version do you perfer?

Say What?! Even though PC users talk about needing a program for all that? I can then email the picture to my email adress then?
