Okay, so I have the Australian version (I believe it's the same as the Europe version) Final Fantasy XI, plus expansions. But to get it working on Vista is a problem, even though I've tried installing the PlayOnline Vista version from their website. So my new computer I plan on getting is probably going to be Vista, so I was thinking that perhaps I needed a newer FFXI version (but still want to play on my current account). I can't seem to find a Europe 2008 collection, but there are US versions being sold here, would I have trouble running my account on it? Also, is it worth running FFXI on Vista? I know friends say they have no problems, but I dunno. And I'll most likely be getting the new ATI HD4850 512mb DDR3, as it's better bang for buck than the 9800GTX or 8800GT. Help or opinions greatly appreciated. |

Those are some comments on the board about Vista. Might want to read up in case you have issues when you get your computer.

install the Vista POL and update it fully install FFXI and all expansions update FFXI fully should work fine

TheGrandMom: Thanks for the links! Kailea: I have tried that on my dad's computer (he has Vista), but when I get to the part where I need to install FFXI, it tells me I need to install PlayOnline. I will have to really look into why it's doing that (maybe it doesn't work with EU installs, or because I have the old RoZ+CoP CD pack). I'll have a look through the links supplied by TheGrandMom, and see if I can fix the problem, but if anyone cant tell me in a quick way then I'd appreciate it. Cheers! |
