First of all, Im not asking for a buddy pass, i have a question regarding buddy pass and that is: How to use my buddy pass? (lol), look a friend gave me a buddy pass and i used his CD, i installed all expansions within (zilart, chains and treasures) and i open the play online viewer (step by step), now the question here is: Do i have to register a new POL account? because during the registration POL asks for credit card info. even though it is a FREE trial i pressume, the thing is do i have to add that info or did i do something wrong? Because it's something really weird to me that if you have FREE stuff you need to add bidding info, another question is: Does Square-Enix automatically after the registration of POL starts draining your money? (i.e. presuming i added my credit card info) or a kinda message appears telling you: "Hey dood, your free trial has expired if u wanna continue playing pls buy the game" without draining money (i.e. they tell you when the trial wore off and you need to buy the game without taking your money away? or they do not tell you and after the 30 day trial in your bank receipts appears what you are paying?

Sorry because of the mess up there and my english (im latino xD), this is because im not sure i wanna buy the game right now (exams...) tho i'ld love to taste a bit of it without any charges to my bank account, what i want to presume is that credit card info is just a part of POL ID registering and they will not charge anything into your card after the 30-day trial and a message will tell u when the time comes to buy the game.

You still have to put in your cc info to get the 30 days free.

If you are using brand new registration codes you will not be billed until after the first 30 days.

If you are using your buddy's old codes, then you will not get 30 days free, since he's obviously used it, and will be billed at the first of the month.

You will not recieve a warning that your free trial is over.

SE bills on the 1st of the month every month and only on the 1st.

So, lets see if i understand you, the buddy pass works as if i bought the vanadiel collection case with the 30-day free trial, its the same but obviously one of them is for my friend (the trial within his collection code) and the mine (the buddy pass), and after i submit my cc info for registration process i'll start my 30-day free trial and after that trial ends im going to get cc charges regarding POL in my bank receipts, am i correct?

If thats so, really thanks a lot!, a Thanks! by my part goes for u but one last thing, what is the stuff im paying for and how much will it be, as i know i must pay for:
-POL ID
-Each character of FFXI (im not sure on this another friend told me, my friend and i, both havent played FFXI, so we ignore every aspect of the game)

That stuff will be the 2 things i'll be paying during my POL membership? or there are more?

I was under the impression the Buddy Pass simply let you download a FFXI installer from the internet that would put FFXI (no expansions) onto your computer and allow you to sign up for POL and FFXI. After 30 days, you'd begin getting charged for service and will have to buy the expansions separately.

Unless I'm wrong, you're going to have to uninstall FFXI + expansions from your computer and run the installer you download from SE.

I do not think that you can use the buddy pass to register all of the expansions. I may be wrong so try it and see. Usually the buddy pass is for the original FFXI and the Rise of Zilart expansion pack only. Any additional expansion packs would need registration codes. But I have not used the new Vana'diel Collection 2008 so I'm just using knowledge from past releases.

Each seperate account is $12.95 for one character. You can have more than one character on your account if you choose to. You purchase an additional Content ID after registering your main character. Additional Content ID's are $1.00 per month per Content ID. So one main character plus one addtional character will be $13.95 a month. One main character with 2 additional characters will be $14.95 a month and so on.

You do not need more than one character since one character can play every job thats in the game. Most people make additional characters so they have extra storage space. You might want to do this later on in the game.

Just so you are aware of this, in order for you and your buddy to play together at the same time in FFXI, you need 2 seperate accounts. A person can not use your extra character at the same time you are online. It will knock you offline.
