Lets just say i am not missing out on the fun, whats even more fun is that my laptop does not boot from the CD and gets stuck at the blue Windows Setup Screen..after reinstalling everything(so its bare but i keep programs that cant run)...

Not trying to necro anything, but i have the same problem as Lionx. Just whanted to see if you got a solution to it? I got my running with windower, but i have to have running in a window as fullscreen crashes with it too.

There's a couple of things to do.
1st of all, did you replace any .dat files while you were playing?
You may need to run a system / file check from POL and verify that everything is correct. I've had this problem before, when i would step onto a teleport crystal and click it and it would crash out like that. I'm not sure if that is related or not.
2nd, do you have any controllers connected to your computer via usb? Try unplugging that, and 1 at a time then launching FFXI.
3rd... umm... that's a non-official windower T_T. try using the regular POL to launch it and test it out. Maybe it's the windower or it's plugin's that you are running...

Probably an older version of windower with plug-ins running. Go get the newest version and try that too.

It's the newest version of windower, and it crashes if i use pol without windower as well. It was this way after i've updated from a fresh install, but i guess it wouldn't hurt to do a file check anyway. I've tried with and without my game pad, gonna try with out my cordless mouse adaptor.


Edit: It was the adapter causing this, after removing it both POL and windower worked fine. Now i only have to resolve my issue with crappy fps, but thats another story.
