Different region accounts and FFXI Vanadiel 08 Collection - Final Fantasy XI :: Dreams in Vana'diel :: Community

My current FFXI account was created with the American version of FFXI and I have all of the expansions registered on it except for WotG.

My husband and I have decided to start playing again, but unfotunately I do not have FFXI installed on my laptop anymore and no longer have the discs. Although I do still have the NA POL viewer installed. Since we live in Japan, I was going to buy the Japanese version of the 08 Vanadiel Collection but I wanted to know if it would work? Or am I going to have to create another account? :/

You'd have to create another account. Region is the one sticking point for compatibility between versions. 360/PC/PS2 doesn't matter. Region does.

Hmm ok, thanks for the help anyways

I checked Play Asia and it looks like it will be cheaper to just import the NA version of the Vanadiel Collection 08 and the expansion pack for my husband anyways. Free shipping in Japan weee. I just wonder why the Japanese version is so much more expensive.
