Same account across versions?

I have a very simple question for all you wise people.

If I were to make an account on the PC version of FFXI and play around for a couple months, could I then use the same account and subscription to play on the 360 version? I am aware I would have to spend another ~$40 getting the game for the 360, but would I also have to pay an extra $13 a month?

The account can be used on any client. Just click "already a member" instead of "sign up" when you install PlayOnline.
