| Running FFXI on Intel 945
OK, I'm sorry if this is a common question, i did have a look but i can never find a straight answer. I have a acer 5310 laptop with intel 945 onboard graphics, and i wanna know if its possible to run this game ok? i was planning on using windower to improve the quality a bit. I'm just asking if there is anyone here who has it running on a similar system and is it worth me installing and downloading all the updates for it not to work, and use up my download limits. cheers for any help in advance! |

just a fyi, ffxi is more cpu-intensive than graphics intensive, so awesome graphics with average cpu won't do well. if your graphics card is at least 128MB, focus more on the processor

Minimum requirements are a Video card with 32mb VRAM. However, FFXI requires a card with Hardware T&L, which the 945 does not support. I wouldn't expect it to work.

I thought I'd seen reports of people using 3D-Analyze to run the game on Intel cards. That was a year or two ago, though.
