this may sound like a dumb question, but are you able to play FFXI's expansions without them installed even if you are registered with the CD keys.

i just recently installed the game back on my computer but cant find my expansions

any help would be most appreciated

do you need WoTG tho? Sense you can sign up online? I know you need a registrain code and all that, but do you need the disc?

Yes. You still need the disc.

Expansion content has a hard time loading from a space on your hard drive that doesn't exist.

You can still paly the game without any expansion installed, the only problem is you can;t access the areas, missions, extra jobs etc. that these expansions gave. it will also slow down your exp rate as especially after lvl 25 the areas you exp in are from zilhart and promy. In reality if your not bothered about getting DNC and SCH as advanced jobs once you ding 30 then until you hit lvl 60-70 you don't really need WOTG. The cost of the vandiel collection 2007 which has all of the exansions except WOTG is not very expensive (compared to having to buy each one seperate) and you can use your existing codes on them.
