FFXI's endgame?

Hi folks, I tried to use the search button before I made the thread, but I couldn't seem to find an answer. Anyway, I'm curious about the so-called "end game," in FFXI, what is there to do post level 75? I'm really curious about the "end game" activities to look forward to.

I'm sure I'm gonna miss something, so someone can correct me, but heres what I thought of off the top of my head. Note that most of these aren't restricted to 75+. but often 65 or 70+.

Re: FFXI's endgame?

I couldn't help but notice on those wiki pages, they say the maximum number of players is 64? Are there really that much in every Dynamis run?

Edit: Sky and Sea are areas, or events like Dynamis?

Re: FFXI's endgame?

I'm by far no expert on Dynamis, but I'd not expect a full Dynamis every run, or even often at all. It all depends on the shell you get, of course, and I have very little experience in the matter, so wiser heads may speak up.

Sky and Sea are areas, which you can unlock by completing a series of missions in the game. In these areas, there are tons of exceptionally hard monsters, which give exceptional pieces of equipment.

Re: FFXI's endgame?

Actually, "sky" and "sea" are slangs; "sky" refers to the area Tu'Lia, and "sea" to the region Lumoria (which contains Al'Taieu, Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi, and The Garden of Ru'Hmet). I've seen "sea" used to refer to Al'Taieu specifically, though.

Regardless, both words are easy to type, exist in the auto-translator, and widely understood by players of all languages to mean Tu'Lia and Lumoria--neither one has limitation on number of players as low as 64. (Whether there is a limitation or not, I don't know.)

* * *

The number 64 is an upper cap number of people who can enter each Dynamis zone at a time, I think. There are other endgame area with no known limitation (e.g. Dragon Aery ), and some with much smaller limits (e.g. Limbus' is 18).

Re: FFXI's endgame?

The cap for Dreamworld (CoP) Dynamis is 36, which City and Northland Dynamis is 64.

God knows what would happen in a 64 player Dynamis, even with upper 30's to 40ish attending, most melee get 1 hit at the mob before its dead. Some complain they dont even get to draw their weapon, lol.

Theres loads to do at endgame, but if you ever get bored, all you need to do is change to a lower level job and start grinding again

Re: FFXI's endgame?

Other endgame activites can include the more challenging Battlefield Fights such as:

- Allianceable Avatars
- Ouryu Cometh (Ouryu v2)
- The Wyrmking Descends (Bahamut v2)
- KSNM99 (Grond Kings)
