Questions Regarding Gold World Passes

Hello! A friend of mine recently got the Vana'diel collection. He has a Buddy Pass but we also want another friend to play. So we read about the Gold World Pass but we're not exactly sure how it works. What exactly does it do? Allow a person to download the game? Does it allow them to play the game for an extended period of time? How would they use the Gold Pass? Does a person need to buy Final Fantasy XI in order to use the Gold Pass?

Also, how would we use the Buddy Pass?

You give them the number and they are allowed to join your server. It's rather obsolete now, other than the fact that over certain periods of time you and the said friend can get some pretty nice items. :3

For the Buddy pass though, I'm not sure...

Ah. But do they need to buy the game in order to use the pass though? Or will they be able to use the gold pass to download the game?

no, they will need the game. you can only download the (base, no expansions) game with a Buddy Pass.
