Windows 2000?

Ok. sorry for asking this but i´ve read different things on different topics.
Can you play the japanese version of FFXI on Windows 2000 or does it only work on Windows XP?:confused:

NO! but you can change so that your computer can read japanese signs. can someone who KNOWS this please answer.

Supported platforms.

The following operating systems I have PERSONALLY seen Final Fantasy XI work on:

Windows 2000 Professional
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Windows XP Home Edition
Windows XP Professional

It works on any language version of the above provided that you can install Japanese language support from the original Windows CD, using the Regional Options/Settings in the Control Panel.

Thats the thing, though. You do not need to change to japanese all the time. I just formatted my computer but couldnt find the XP disk for the japanese fonts, but it installed anyway, i just cant type japanese but thats no biggy to me. So give it a try, but always have a backup plan

Windows XP is built off Windows 2000, and they're the same series of operating system (Windows 2000 is labelled as Windows NT 5.0, and Windows XP is labelled as Windows NT 5.1). XP uses the exact same code base as 2000. Yes, it'll run just fine.
