Japanese version of FFXI

Hello!
I am a Japanese native, and wanted to type Japanese in FFXI so I can better communicate with JP players. I researched around, and it seems that the only legit
way to do this is to install the JP version.

Thinking of getting this:

Here is the question, can I install this onto US windows and use my US account?
Also, do I need to get a japanese keyboard? I know some keys to change hiragana to kanji is specific to this kind of keyboard.

You can install JP version of the game. Assuming you use Windows XP right? You can use US keyboards to type it IME style.

Open up your Regional and Language Options, In your control panel.
You'll need 2 things.

1) IME

In the Languages bar, check both "Install files for complex....." and "Install files for East Asian...."
Click [Details]
click [Add] and choose "Japanese - Microsoft IME...."
You might also want to set it to default.
Close this window.

2) Language settings, go to Advanced tab of the Regional and Language Settings.
Choose Japanese for your Default Language for non-unicode Program.

My friend had one. yey i can type in JP now. Can finally join a Japanese LS.^^
