server question

I searched for this, but I couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for

Anyway, how are the servers set up? My friend recently joined, and he is now on the Phoenix server. I will be getting the game very soon, will I be able to get on the same server as him? There are also a few other of my friends that will be getting it, can they get on the same server?
I know that he could get a World Pass, but those things cost ALOT of money, especially when you're at level 1 or whatever.

World Passes don't really cost a lot of money. A Gold World Pass costs 1000 gil, which can be earned in a very small amount of time (i.e. less than an hour with a brand new character), though it only works for one person.

A standard World Pass can cost somewhat more (the most I've seen it go has been just a shade over 5000 gil), but even that isn't excessive considering how much you can earn just XPing with low level characters. Standard World Passes last for 7 real calendar days and can be used up to five times.

Looking at FFXIAH's figures for the number of players on Phoenix, it 'appears' to be on the mid-low end of the population scale. I wouldn't think the WP would cost too much. Then again, there's really no way to know for sure til they go to buy it. If they do buy one, they can talk to the WP vendor again to verify the WP # and the days and uses left on it.
